Raiders of the Lost Tomb
The Snout of Omgar
The Snout of Ogmar was once a peninsula, but upheaval wrought by the Spellplague broke off the tip of the peninsula, creating an island separated from mainland Chult by a narrow strait. When the separation occurred, tortles living in the vicinity claimed the island as their domain. The strait provided a natural defence against aggressive mainland predators.
The tortles of the Snout are hospitable folk who like to hunt, catch fish, build things, and trade with visitors. Why a temple to Umberlee, the fickle and evil goddess of the sea, was built by them over decades must be an interesting story. Even stranger is the tortles now shun the place. It has become a rite of passage for younger tortles to enter. Few get far before they come out, frightened. Some don't come out again at all.
